Fido  Advanced Puppy Class

The need for socialization doesn't end at 4 or 5 months.  This class will continue training in a positive manner that will help ensure your puppy grows into a well adjusted adult dog.  Learn how to get your puppy to respond reliably to cues for proper manners, including come when called, down, sit, walk on a loose leash, stay and polite greetings.  We'll also show you how to teach your puppy useful tricks using a marker to shape behaviors.  Taught by Samantha McCollough & Linda Nichols.

Puppy Social Hour
For puppies 9 - 16 weeks

There is no such thing as an over-socialized puppy. The more positive experiences you expose your puppy to during the critical socialization period between 7 weeks and 16 weeks, the better your chances of having a well adjusted adult dog. Under-socialized puppies often develop problems as they become adolescents and can become fearful of new situations. Providing Fido the chance to experience new environments, people and pups reduces the chances of these problems developing and helps develop a confident puppy. At each session, there will be plenty of puppy handling and structured puppy play. We will also have the opportunity to problem solve common puppy issues such as rough play, mouthing, hofidofundamentalslogo.gifuse training, and jumping up. Join us for one session or more to continue building your relationship and to help your puppy develop into your dream dog!  Call ahead for one or more play sessions

Level 1

For puppies and dogs 5 months and older

This 7 week class will help you teach your dog to choose polite behaviors.  Basic exercises will consist of sit, down, stay, come when called, and loose leash walking.  Problem solving for unwanted behaviors will be addressed.  Food will be used as a primary reinforcer.  The clicker will be introduced. Taught by Sharon.

Fido FUNdamentals 101

and teach you how to use "life rewards" to get your dog
walking happily by your side.

You've made their "Bed"...Now teach them to lie on it.

Is your dog trying to eat at the table with you?  Does your dog get overly excited when someone comes to the door?  Does your dog hog your bed?  Have you ever wished that you could just send your dog off to go lie down?

If you answered yes to any of these questions teaching your dog to lie on a "bed" can give them a place to go when you are eating, when someone comes over, or when things just get chaotic.  This exercise also teaches them to be calm.

This 2 session class consists of one night of craft - making your dog a new bed and one night of teaching your dog to lie on  it.  No craft experience is necessary

Upon registration you will receive detailed information on what you need to bring to class.
